Verification

Verification & trust

Trust on Neighbour is earned, not assumed. Here's exactly what we check and what you can rely on.

What we verify

  • Email address — confirmed before an account can be used.
  • Mobile number — confirmed by one-time code.
  • Identity — a government-issued ID document, reviewed by our team.
  • Selfie photo — checked against the ID to confirm it's really you.
  • Address — a recent utility bill or bank statement.
  • Payment details — verified through our regulated payments partner before payouts.

Documents are stored securely, reviewed only by our verification team, and are never shown on your public profile or shared with other neighbours.

What the badges mean

  • Verified — identity documents have been reviewed and approved.
  • New neighbour — a genuine account that hasn't completed tasks yet.
  • Building trust — a growing record of completed tasks and reviews.
  • Trusted — consistent, verified activity with good reviews.
  • Top neighbour — highly rated, verified and reliable over many tasks.

What verification does not guarantee

Verification confirms who someone is. It is not a background check, a qualification check or a guarantee of the quality of someone's work. Always read reviews, agree the details in writing, and use your own judgement before accepting a task.
