In person

Meeting safely

Most tasks happen at someone's home. A few simple habits keep everyone comfortable.

Before you go

  • Agree the full scope, timing and price in the Neighbour conversation.
  • Check the profile: verification, reviews and completed tasks.
  • Tell someone you trust where you're going and when you expect to finish.
  • Only the approximate area is shown publicly — the precise address is shared once a booking is confirmed, and only where it's needed to complete the task.

While you're there

  • Keep your phone charged and to hand.
  • You're welcome to bring someone with you — just let the other person know.
  • Stick to the task that was agreed. Anything extra should be agreed here first.
  • Don't share bank details, ID copies or one-time codes with anyone.

If something doesn't feel right

Leave. You are never obliged to continue a task, and cancelling for safety reasons will not count against you. Once you're somewhere safe, report what happened so our team can review it. In an emergency, call 999 first.

Helping vulnerable neighbours

  • Be patient, introduce yourself clearly and confirm what you've been asked to do.
  • Never ask for cash, gifts or access to bank cards or accounts.
  • If you're concerned about someone's welfare, contact their local council's adult social care team, or call 999 if there is immediate risk.
